Today, in the hearandt of Stockholm, voices are rising together to stand with the people of Gaza. This mobilization is not only a moral obligation, but also a legal responsibility under international law.
Together, we draw a red line to say: that line was crossed long ago. We now demand that the Swedish government take action.
Gaza is facing one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes of our time.
Israel’s war is killing civilians daily, while the ongoing blockade violates international law. People are starving, diseases are spreading, and hospitals have turned into morgues.
Gaza has been described as a graveyard for children.
What is happening is a moral collapse.
We call on the Swedish government to:
• Work for an immediate and permanent ceasefire
• Demand the lifting of the blockade on Gaza and ensure full humanitarian access
• Resume support for UNRWA
• Collaborate with the EU to end trade with Israel that may contribute to genocide and other grave violations of international law
• Demand respect for international humanitarian law by all parties
• Demand the protection of civilians in Gaza from indiscriminate attacks
• Adhere to the decisions of international courts (International Court of Justice and International Criminal Court) and the UN Security Council
• Call for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and those arbitrarily detained or imprisoned
To the civilians of Gaza:
